Completed in 2021, this state-of-the-art complex on the Colorado College campus is part of the Colorado Springs City for Champions (C4C) initiative, which uses revenue made available by the states 2013 Regional Tourism Act as seed money to invest in facilities to draw tourists to the region.
JLG Architects won a national design competition for a new hockey arena and natatorium. The overall concept focuses on big-picture campus goals while creating an iconic campus event space and sports centerpiece with one primary goal being a net-zero facility. The building is meant to be an aspirational model of accessibility and sustainability for students and the nation. The arena will be leveraged as the ultimate recruitment tool for Colorado College by featuring an exciting and energetic exterior design, a literal WOW experience when entering the lobby.
